“He would tell stories of his distant land in the north. Of cold, rocky lake shores. Of water clear as glass and teeming with sparkling fish. Of the fresh blue- green weed, which grew in springtime and tasted so good that it made his tongue curl just talking about it.”
‘The Winter Visitor’ is an exciting joint project: a children’s story, written and designed by Nick Andrew, which follows three swans and their winter’s journey along a chalk stream. Tanya Hinton has created the enchanting illustrations with unique paintings on reclaimed wood (view Tanya’s work here). It was published in 2020 and reprinted in 2024.
A proportion from the sale of each copy will be donated to the Wessex Rivers Trust.
