art courses

Currently I have no art courses planned due to Covid-19 restrictions. If you are interested in joining a future course, please send me your contact details using the form below and / or sign up to my newsletter here.

To give you an idea of how my courses are structured, below is the outline of a course I ran last year at Stourhead, Wiltshire.

An inspirational 3- day course designed to analyse and develop your individual approach to making art.

During the course, we will explore the possibilities offered by the landscape, gardens, buildings and lakes in and around Stourhead through stimulating drawing and painting exercises, looking at approaches to observation, research, developing ideas and design. You’ll be encouraged to work- out ideas towards finished pieces of work.

We’ll be based in the well- equipped Stourton Memorial Hall ( just a stone’s throw from Stourhead Gardens and next door to the Spread Eagle Inn ).

I will ask you to bring materials and equipment including:

Sketchbooks, pencils, charcoal, pen, drawing paper, painting materials and equipment, drawing board, and equipment for outdoor work (ie: folding chair or stool and an easel if you have one).
